Quality cinema is made once in centuries in Hindi cinema, Waiting is that film. Can’t recollect when was the last time I saw a film which is so high on content, relatable and most importantly every single second in the film make you feel of wanting more of this amazing drama. Waiting is surely something that cannot be missed at any cost.
Trailer of Waiting pretty much explain the basic premise of the film. It’s Anu Menon’s writing and execution that makes Waiting such a special film. It starts from the word go and you are hooked throughout. The climax makes you feel sad about film getting over. Waiting is so relatable that it can also be termed as a reality check. It beautifully explains a great relationship; both of current generation and a generation older. How about finding some stranger going through the same problems as us and then realising that this is the person who understands us the most. How priorities change over time in friendship. How family becomes unimportant when they don’t support our decision. All these things and many more are beautifully explored in Waiting.
Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin have given a flawless performance. Their dance sequence is something to watch out for in the entire film. Both of them have owned and lived their characters. They were perfectly casted. The supporting cast was great too. Anu Menon’s direction was top notch. Mickey McCleary had some soothing compositions which went well with the film. Editing was brilliant.
Waiting is that film which will appeal to one and all because of its quality content. Highly recommended.
