Surprisingly Hate Story 3 is not bad as it was expected to be, so a reason to not avoid the film, can be easily seen on TV. It is the diluted version of Abbas-Mustan’s thriller Race. I am assuming since the budget of Hate Story 3 was low the treatment of the film was not as good as that of Race.
Hate Story 3 has twists and turns in it but they are just ordinary especially after seeing them in a sleak manner in previous Abbas-Mustan’s films. I am constantly repeating the director duo name because Hate Story 3 reminds you of their previous work. Obviously Vishal Pandya is no where close to them as far as directing Hate Story 3 is concerned.
Hate Story 3 has pretty engaging plot that keeps you engrossed but every time there is a song in the film you are just disinterested. They just spoil the entire flow of the film and all of them seem forced in the film.
Sharman Joshi had to struggle to perform bad so that he could match his costars. Trust me he can do better but in better films. Zarine Khan seemed to be in an acting class where she waits for her mentor to guide her. Very ordinary performance. Daisy Shah and Karan Singh Grover just did what they always do be it TV or films; be themselves.
Film had a good album but when songs became part of the film they just turned out to be a misfits in the film. All the other departments were very average in the film.
For sure Hate Story 3 is not that bad but the film also isn’t that good to spend your money on it. Wait for it’s satellite broadcasting and enjoy it there.
