Finally a decent entertainer in detective genre after not so great Mr. Joe Bhi Carvahlo and Samrat & Co. Bobby Jasoos has everything in it. Humor, emotions, tragedy, drama and romance. Samar Sheikh has done complete justice to the genre. The film has a powerful first half which does not give you a chance to look left and right, you are completely engrossed in the film. Second half starts off very well but the predictable and not so impressive climax and romantic track of the film plays a spoilsport. The film is very well researched, be it in terms of small town of Hyderabad till the life style of people living there. Vidya Balan again proves that she does not need a hero in her films. She has managed to put a great show all by herself. She has perfectly got all the nuances of a small town 30 year old Hyderabadi women.Vidya is nothing less than flawless. Her disguises takes her performance to an altogether different level. She is the scene stealer. The remaining supporting cast have also performed exceptionally well. Supriya Pathak, Tanvee Azmi, Zarina Wahab and rest all have shined in their small roles. Music of the film is pretty decent. Editing of the film is pitch perfect. Hyderabad is beautifully captured. Some shots of Charminar are just eye pleasing.
On the whole Bobby Jasoos is a family entertainer in true sense sans item number and sex. The film will cater to one and all just go with a expectation of a good entertainer that will give you your money’s worth. This jasoosi is absolutely recommended.
