Story of four guys Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh) and Zafar (Ali Fazal). Hunny and Choocha are like best buddies. They enjoy their irrespective of what comes their way in form of good or bad things. Lali an innocent yet flirtatious guy and Zafar simple straight honest but slightly sad and bore guy. All of them have their problems and need one solution which is money. Choocha and Hunny have weirdest way to earn money, that is with Choocha’s unbelievable dreams and Hunny’s predictions which make them win lottery. With this plan all four of them plan a big game which will solve everybody’s problem and plan to take help from Bholi (Richa Chadda). How they manage to play a safe game or try to sort out the messed game is the Fukrey’s story.
All the four boys Pulkit, Ali, Manjot and newbie Varun have done a good job. Pulkit after impressing in Bittoo Boss has impressed once again with different kind of role. If he gets good films he has a long way to go. Manjot Singh is repetitive in every film. He is good for only one type of role and keeps on doing the same things in all his films. High time he should try different roles. Ali Fazal after Always Kabhi Kabhi has done a good job. His character is good and he has done his job perfectly. The new boy Varun Sharma is the scene stellar, especially in those with Pulkit. The only actor who makes you laugh in his every scene. Richa Chadda is like a surprise package of the film. Post Gangs Of Wasseypur this was the perfect role to prove her versatility. She has less screen space but manages to create a powerful impact with her brilliant performance. Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh are good in their respective roles. They come at right time in film and do their job perfectly. Overall the performances of the film are very good.
Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has done quite a good job. His direction was good and his Story and Screenplay with Vipul Vij was very good. The direction of the film could have been better but good effort by Mrighdeep. Story and Screenplay is the best part of the film. It is somewhat on the lines of recent youth based films but does not make you feel like you have seen such film before. Editing of the film could have been better. Initially the pace of the film is average but then it’s good. Music of the film is one more good thing about the film. Ambarsariya is the best song in the entire album. Other songs also go with the film and are good to hear. Ram Sampath has composed good music as always.
Fukrey works for one big reason that the makers have managed to identify the needs of it’s target audience and managed to deliver everything perfectly. Amazing dialogues and relate able characters makes the movie look even more better. No doubt initially the pace of the film is bit slow but you won’t even realize when the film grabs your attention like anything and keeps you glued to your seat. This one deserves a watch from all the youngsters. This one is definately recommended.
